What is the full form of NLP?

The full form of NLP is Neuro Linguistic Programming. NLP is described as the study of subjective experience. NLP is the most powerful personal development training program.

NLP, or Neuro-Linguistic Programming, was created by Dr. Richard Bandler and John Grinder in the 1970s as a result of their study of human excellence.

NLP seeks to explain how and why humans do what they do. For example, if someone experiences a fear of public speaking, NLP examines how they think about it—what images they create in their mind, the voices they hear, the feelings they experience, and the sequence in which these occur. On the other hand, if someone is a brilliant public speaker, NLP studies how they achieve such excellence, exploring how they use their five senses, language, and body language to produce outstanding results.

NLP doesn't claim to be a science. Instead, it offers simple techniques that anyone can use to change their thinking about any given situation.

"Neuro" refers to the nervous system, through which our experiences are processed. All the information you hold in your brain comes through your five senses—pictures, sounds, feelings, smells, and tastes.

"Linguistic" refers to language, including both interpersonal and intrapersonal communication patterns. This encompasses verbal and non-verbal elements such as words, tone, and body language.

"Programming" refers to the patterns of thinking and behavior that we've learned and adopted throughout our lives, often practiced to the point where they seem second nature. These patterns are generated by how we process communication in our minds to either take action or stop ourselves from acting.

In simpler terms, NLP is the study of how humans produce any behavior—useful or not—by processing communication within their brains.

Who created NLP?

NLP was primarily created by two men - Dr. Richard Bandler and John Grinder in 1970's. They studied some of the most effective people they found and created models of their excellence. Later many other people contributed to the field.
